Lydia's Bridge in Jamestown, NC has been declared a paranormal site by the NC Folklife Institute due to the experience of the "Vanishing Hitchhiker". Legend has it that the spirit of Lydia is trying to get home to High Point, NC and has convinced drivers to come to her aid, only to disappear once she becomes a passenger in their vehicle.
